Number of Post : 12 (UR-8, SC- 01, OBC- 3, PWD-1)
Essential Qualifications: a)Degree in Library Science from a recognized University with 60% marks; and with Working knowledge of computers preferably NIELIT ‘CCC’ or higher certification.
b) Post Graduate Degree in Library Science from a recognised University with 60% marks.
Experience : 2 years in a Library of repute for (a) Nil in case of (b)
Age Limit: Upto 30 years (Relaxation as per Govt. of India rules)
Mode of recruitment : Direct Recruitment on contract basis initially for a period of 02 years.
General Information:
1. CITIZENSHIP: A Candidate must be either: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before
1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries
of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently
settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the
Government of India. NOTE: The application of a candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be considered by the Commission and, if recommended for
appointment, the candidate may also be provisionally appointed subject to the necessary certificate being issued in his favour by the Government of India .
2. The application fees of Rs. 500/- shall be charged for general and all others candidates and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates.
3. The fee will be collected through online payment mode via application software only. Any processing charges towards the same plus service tax, if any, will have to be borne by
the candidate. Fee through any other mode like Demand Draft, Pay Order, Cheque or Challan will not be accepted.
4. Choice of Examination locations: ) Aizawl ) Ajmer ) Chennai ) Delhi ) Gangtok ) Guwahati ) Imphal ) Itanagar ) Patna ) Shillong
Candidates should indicate their choice for Centre from the above mentioned cities for written examination in the appropriate column of the online Application form. No
change of Centre will be permissible at a later date. NIELIT, for administrative reasons, however, reserves the right to direct the candidate to appear for Written Test at any location other than the one chosen by the candidate).
5. Application fee once paid is non-refundable. Applicants, in their own interest, should check their eligibility for specific post before remitting the application fee.
6. Applicants applying for more than one post should submit separate applications and remit the application fee for each post separately.
7. Final selection of candidates for appointment to the above mentioned positions will be based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination, skill test (wherever
applicable) and in interview and found eligible as per prescribed criteria.
The written examination shall be OMR based.
Written examination will comprise of objective type questions. The Question Paper for Positions at Sl. Nos. 1 to 5 above, will consist of 85 (50 Technical and 35 General
Aptitude); while for remaining positions the Question Paper shall consist of 85 Questions in General Knowledge and Aptitude.
Every question will carry 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 of each wrong answer. The weightage of written exam and interview will be in the ratio of
85:15. Separate skill test shall be conducted for the positions of Stenographers.

Candidates who have qualified the written examination will be called for interview and the documents with regard to Educational Qualifications and Experience including
Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable) will be verified by NIELIT representatives immediately before interview. All candidates invited for interview will be required to
bring all original documents alongwith at least one self attested Photostat copy of each document.
All correspondence will be made through e-mails only and as such the candidates must regularly check their e-mail ids.
8. Affix your recent colour passport size photograph (of size 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) on a White Paper and then sign in a box of 3.5cmx 1.5c m below the photograph with Black Pen.
Scan the above photo and signature and upload in the appropriate space provided (JPG format of size not more than 50 KB) in Application Form.
9. Take the printout of acknowledgement slip bearing a reference number that should be referred to in all future correspondence with NIELIT in connection with recruitment
process.

11. Before uploading/submitting application form, the candidates should carefully ensure his/her eligibility for the post applied for. No relevant column of the application form
should be left blank, otherwise application form is liable for rejection.
12. Incomplete / incorrect application form will be summarily rejected.
13. Withdrawal of candidature on account of non furnishing of any information will not confer any right to carry forward or retain the candidature for future recruitment.
14. Any request for change of address will not be entertained.
15. The offer of appointment is subject to verification of original certificates/testimonials at the time of interview and completeness of other formalities otherwise the candidature
shall be rejected.
16. Degrees obtained through Open Universities/Distance Education mode that are approved by DEC and wherever necessary, by AICTE, are recognized for the purpose of
employment under Central Government vide Gazetted Notification No.44 dated 1st march, 1995.
17. NIELIT will not be responsible in case of broken transaction during the online payment process. It is the sole responsibility of candidate to ensure that the payment has been
made successfully.
18. The post of Asstt. Librarian may be filled either with consolidated remuneration of Rs.28,000/- or Rs. 21,000/- keeping in view of the performance of the candidates in written
test/interview.
