Harvard University is coming to India..
The United States of America's prestigious Harvard University is set to open its international office in India, South Africa and China. According to a report in the college newspaper, The Harvard Crimson University is waiting for the approval from the Indian government for its school of public health to open office in Mumbai.
Jorge I. DomÃnguez, Chairman of the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies said that the proposed Indian office in earliest stages of development as compared to the offices in other countries. Apart from Mumbai, Harvard University has authorised the formation of new international offices in Cape Town in South Africa and Beijing in China and each office is in different stage of development. DomÃnguez said that the university is hoping that the approval from the government will come this summer.
Harvard University will facilitate research and academic work for its Harvard affiliates in these regions and these offices will join 16 other offices all around the world, including many Latin America based offices of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, Business School locations across Asia and the recently-opened Medical School research centre in Dubai.
The offices in South Africa is expected to open by the end of 2015 or early 2016 and the Beijing office will be connected to the existing Shanghai branch.
